<p>Instead of a firm handshake, McCaughey, superintendent of <a href="http://sch-ools.com/chicago-catholic-schools">Chicago Catholic Schools</a>, greets principals with a big bear hug. Visiting schools across the archdiocese, she bursts into classrooms, praising teachers with high-fives and joking with students about Fat Tuesday. Even in meetings, her colleagues and critics alike are disarmed and charmed by her loud laugh, feisty attitude and courage to speak her mind on how to save<a href="http://sch-ools.com/chicago-catholic-schools"> Chicago&#8217;s struggling Catholic schools</a>.</p>
<p>Only eight months on the job as head of<a href="http://sch-ools.com/holy-spirit-catholic-school"> the nation&#8217;s largest Catholic school system</a>, McCaughey, 59, is already taking steps to reinvent Chicago&#8217;s Catholic schools. She will announce on Monday the establishment of a newly formed <a href="http://sch-ools.com/catholic-boarding-schools">archdiocesan school board</a> responsible for implementing a new vision for the schools. In coming months, she expects to reopen two closed Catholic schools as <a href="http://sch-ools.com/best-catholic-schools">learning evangelization centers</a>, a different school model from preschool to 2nd grade. She also plans to explore charter-school conversions, corporate tax credits, and public and private partnerships to fund cash-strapped schools.</p>
<h4><a href="http://sch-ools.com/chicago-catholic-schools"><strong>Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools Have Faith in Education</strong></a></h4>
<p><img src="http://www.pcipr.com/_siteres/_images/_test/challenge.gif" alt="Challenge" width="101" height="12" /></p>
<p>PCI was retained by the Archdiocese of Chicago to create marketing communications campaigns to promote its school system,<a href="http://sch-ools.com/catholic-private-schools"> the largest non-public school system</a> in the nation. The first, “Choose Catholic Schools,” became the model for the National Catholic Education Association’s annual Catholic Schools Week. The second, “<a href="http://sch-ools.com/st-mark-catholic-school">Catholic Schools Have Faith in Education</a>,” advanced the image, vitality and relevance of the system, positioning the schools as faith-based, academically excellent, technologically sophisticated, and safe and secure.</p>
<p><img src="http://www.pcipr.com/_siteres/_images/_test/action.gif" alt="" width="64" height="12" /></p>
<p>The “Have Faith in Education” campaign was developed following a series of focus groups that uncovered current attitudes toward Catholic schools held by members of the African-American, Hispanic and general market communities. <a href="http://sch-ools.com/seton-catholic-school">The program blended participation</a> in a series of audience-specific special events with brochures, billboards in selected high-traffic areas and spot radio advertising.</p>
<p><img src="http://www.pcipr.com/_siteres/_images/_test/results.gif" alt="" width="76" height="12" /></p>
<p>PCI’s strategy was to leverage the positive story of Catholic schools with an aggressive <a href="http://sch-ools.com/catholic-schools-office">media relations campaign</a>, which, in less than four years, secured more than 1,500 print and broadcast placements in Chicago metropolitan area media as well as national and regional media. The story of the accomplishments of Catholic schools, their students, teachers, alumni and volunteers were seen or heard by more than 198 million readers/viewers.</p>
<p>Even so, McCaughey sees hope. Her goal is that every Catholic parent who wants a Catholic education for their children should be able to send them to a Catholic school. Her challenge is persuading others to support her vision.</p>
<p>&#8220;We have to say as a<a href="http://sch-ools.com/catholic-primary-schools"> Catholic community</a>, this is just like Catholic Charities. This is our mission,&#8221; she said. &#8220;The church needs to look at this and say, &#8216;These are our children.&#8217; &#8221;</p>

Serving in schools that<a href="http://www.micheleborba.com/blog/2009/01/06/parenting-resolutions-for-academics-what-to-do-if-your-childs-grades-are-slipping/ " target="_blank"> emphasize a child&#8217;s</a> complete development, <a href="http://sch-ools.com/private-school-rankings/"> private school teachers</a> have the privileged opportunity to transmit the <a href="http://www.bw.edu/resources/registration/info/core-day/skills/" target="_blank">core academic skills</a> as well as the lessons that count most in life: lessons about <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spirituality" target="_blank">spirituality</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love" target="_blank">love</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Value_(personal_and_cultural)" target="_blank">values</a>, <a href="http://www.thewonderofcreation.com/" target="_blank">the wonder of creation</a>, <a href="http://www.westarkchurchofchrist.org/library/purpose.htm" target="_blank">the purpose of existence</a>. Can any work be more important?</p>
<p>Indeed, the work of the<a href="http://sch-ools.com/therapeutic-boarding-schools/"> private school teacher</a> is of such significance, it is often regarded as a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ministry_(band)" target="_blank">ministry </a>and a calling, rather than just a job. Patty Quinn, a teacher at a private school in Maryland, described it this way: &#8220;I look at this<a href="http://www.goshen.edu/news/bulletin/02march/job_career.php" target="_blank"> job as a vocation</a>, not as a career. I really think that the work that I&#8217;m doing has <a href="http://leaders.ldsblogs.com/85/gordon_b_hinckley_and_eternal_consequenc" target="_blank">eternal consequences</a>.&#8221; (<em>Education Week</em>, March 29, 2009)</p>
<p><a href="http://www.privateschoolreview.com/" target="_blank">Private schools</a> are wonderful places in which to teach. They offer caring, orderly, safe, and nurturing environments; they <a href="http://www.bahai.us/node/161" target="_blank">emphasize the education</a> of the whole child; they insist on <a href="http://sch-ools.com/high-school-scholarship/">academic excellence</a>; and they treat teachers as <a href="http://www.professionals.co.nz/ " target="_blank">professionals</a>, giving them <a href="http://www.yourdictionary.com/examples/autonomy " target="_blank">considerable autonomy</a> and <a href="http://charlotte.kudzu.com/merchant/10998831.html" target="_blank">independence in matters of instruction</a>. The disciplined environment, <a href="http://teaching-strategies-mentorship.suite101.com/article.cfm/rigor_in_the_curriculum" target="_blank">rigorous curriculum</a>, caring communities, and <a href="http://sch-ools.com/best-private-schools/">high expectations private schools</a> provide make them some of the most<a href="http://www.effectiveschools.com/" target="_blank"> effective schools</a> in the country. Teachers in private schools can spend their time doing what they are supposed to be doing: <a href="http://www.tda.gov.uk/Recruit.aspx " target="_blank">teaching</a>.</p>
<p>A century ago, many parents <a href="http://www.all4ed.org/files/WhosCounting.pdf " target="_blank">counted on schools</a> to help rescue their children from the terrible<a href="http://www.brettonwoodsproject.org/art-560008" target="_blank"> shadow of poverty</a>. Today, a<a href="http://www.ngccenters.com/" target="_blank"> new generation of children</a> needs deliverance from a far more<a href="http://www.gonomad.com/tours/0512/sony-india.html " target="_blank"> crushing poverty</a>, <a href="http://www.therealpresence.org/archives/Beatitudes/Beatitudes_002.htm" target="_blank">a poverty of spirit</a>. In an age which sometimes seems so void of <a href="http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1011/is_v20/ai_3242644/" target="_blank">basic values</a>, an age where children are coarsened by the media and numbed by nihilism, parents are <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/6655597.stm " target="_blank">calling on private schools</a> to help them infuse their <a href="http://sch-ools.com/boys-boarding-schools/">children&#8217;s lives</a> with <a href="http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=the%20purpose%20of%20meaning" target="_blank">purpose and meaning</a>. They desperately want teachers who can enliven the mind as well as the heart; teachers who can call youngsters to a life of <a href="http://www.classicreader.com/book/1760/ " target="_blank">service and love</a>; teachers who can not only teach children <a href="http://juviewrite2read.aclibrary.org/ " target="_blank">to read and write</a>, but also to <a href="http://www.susanvogt.net/PDF/Conscience%20essay%20-%20How%20to%20Tell%20Right%20from%20Wrong-non%20VO" target="_blank">tell right from wrong</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.capenet.org/teach.html" target="_blank">The life of the private school teacher</a> is an <a href="http://catholicdr.com/calendar/January/StPaul.htm" target="_blank">extraordinary calling</a>. Are you up to the challenge?</p>

<div id="body">Making it through your last year in <a href="http://sch-ools.com/elementary-school-ranking/">high school</a> can sometimes be the most crucial and hard part in finishing this <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Higher_education " target="_blank">educational level</a>. Not everyone <a href="http://fora.tv/2008/02/14/Retooling_Schooling_Who_Gets_to_Graduate " target="_blank">gets to graduate</a>, as some tend to drop out during their senior year due to different reasons.</p>
<p>Some have petty reasons while others have no choice but to drop out because of financial problems in their families. It is a good thing though that there are available <a href="http://sch-ools.com/best-boarding-schools/">Scholarships for High School students</a> in their senior year out there to make sure that the truly <a href="http://www.prlog.org/10241645-student-loan-financial-support-for-deserving-students.html" target="_blank">deserving students</a> get to finish high school and get the diploma they worked hard for.</p>
<p>One of those who offer<a href="http://scholarships.fatomei.com/college.html" target="_blank"> Scholarships for High School Seniors</a> is <a href="http://www.hhs.gov/ " target="_blank">the United States Department of Health and Human Services</a>. They offer <a href="http://apps.collegeboard.com/cbsearch_ss/welcome.jsp" target="_blank">internship scholarships</a> for college bound seniors that will guarantee them of a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permanent_employment " target="_blank">permanent employment </a>after. This kind of scholarship gives a drive to those students that can&#8217;t<a href="http://www.streetdirectory.com/travel_guide/190667/careers_and_job_hunting/can_you_really_afford_taking_a_year_off_work.html" target="_blank"> really afford of taking</a> <a href="http://careersadvice-findacourse.direct.gov.uk/pls/hot_ca/aff_page_pls_all_homepage?a=260405" target="_blank">a course in college</a>.</p>
<p>Not to be left behind in this academic goodwill is the <a href="http://www.ed.gov/ " target="_blank">U.S. Department of Education</a>. Offered to the most distinguished and deserving high school seniors, the <a href="http://sch-ools.com/american-boarding-schools/">U.S. Department of Education</a> gives <a href="http://scholarships.fatomei.com/college.html" target="_blank">Scholarships for High School Seniors</a> who display exemplary <a href="http://www1.sheridaninstitute.ca/programs/0809/pcvat/" target="_blank">excellence in visual, creative, and the performing arts</a>. Only those students who get a distinctly high grade in their SAT&#8217;s or in the<a href="http://www.act.org/ " target="_blank"> American College Testing Program</a> can pass as a <a href="http://www.presidentialscholars.org/ " target="_blank">Presidential Scholar</a> and get all the privileges that this title has. Furthermore, students can only apply for this scholarship if they were personally invited by the U.S. Department of Education making this <a href="http://ezinearticles.com/?Best-Scholarships-For-High-School-Seniors&amp;id=2241140 " target="_blank">scholarship a true privilege and honor</a>.</p>
<p>Scholarships like these<a href="http://news.bio-medicine.org/medicine-news-3/Does-a-family-dinner-guarantee-slimmer-kids-3F-9693-1/" target="_blank"> guarantee the kids</a> out there that there is bright future waiting for them after high school. And with a guarantee like that, there can be no reason at all not to <a href="http://www.collegebound.net/highschoolcompletion/article/dropped-out-six-reasons-why-you-should-finish-high-school/8582/" target="_blank">finish high school</a>.</p>

Read up the info about high school rankings, <a href="http://sch-ools.com/elementary-school-ranking/"><strong>high school football rankings</strong></a>, high school ranking, and learn more about it!</p>
<div id="body">Lists assessing <a href="http://sch-ools.com/high-school-rankings/">high school rankings</a> for K-12 are hugely popular right now because of the intense scrutiny of <a href="http://sch-ools.com/american-boarding-schools/">American education</a>. These rankings are important because parents make moves to areas, or away form them, based on<a href="http://sch-ools.com/elementary-school-ranking/"> how schools rate</a>. The schools then get more money per pupil, or less if they are losing students. Using <a href="http://sch-ools.com/international-boarding-schools/">high school rankings for K-12</a> is different from using them for the lower age groups. To gauge the <a href="http://sch-ools.com/private-school-jobs/">effectiveness of a high school</a>, these are the things you need to look for.</p>
<p><strong>Graduation Rates Rankings for High School</strong></p>
<p>Graduation rates are key when looking at high school rankings for <a href="http://sch-ools.com/best-private-high-schools/">public schools</a>. Schools with<a href="http://sch-ools.com/high-school-rankings/"> low graduation rates</a> usually face a host of other problems as well. <a href="High school drop-out rates">High school drop-out rates</a> are correlated with low income and, sadly, minority status. Of course, that&#8217;s usually because the minorities in question come from<a href="http://sch-ools.com/high-school-rankings/"> low-income families</a> with little education.</p>
<p><strong>Size Matters with High Schools</strong></p>
<p>Another key component of high school rankings is size. First of all, the size of high schools has become a major concern. The Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation has funded millions of dollars to public high schools to make the transformation from buildings that house a thousand or two thousand students, to smaller and more <a href="http://sch-ools.com/boarding-schools-troubled-teens/">intimate schools</a>. Studies have found that smaller schools do a better job of connecting with students, result in higher graduation rates, test scores, and lower rates of teen pregnancies and crime involvement. <a href="http://sch-ools.com/private-school-jobs/">Public High school rankings</a> are great for this type of population size information. But <a href="http://sch-ools.com/private-school-teaching/">high schools</a> can be ranked according to student teacher ratios which can make a big difference to<a href="http://sch-ools.com/best-boarding-schools/"> teenage learners</a>.</p>
<p><strong>Parents Matter with High Schools</strong></p>
<p>While most High School Rankings don&#8217;t have a way to measure parent involvement, you can look at other factors that will give you an idea of communication at the school.<a href="http://sch-ools.com/military-boarding-schools/"> Ratings for the leadership</a> of the principal or the quality or the teachers might give you an idea of what parent communications are like. Usually a school with a strong leader is more likely to have strong communications with parents. And of all the factors mentioned, parental involvement can make or break a school.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s so easy for parents to get<a href="http://sch-ools.com/california-boarding-schools/"> information in this high-tech</a> age. Knowing what information to look can help you make an informed decision and make the best use of high school rankings.</p>

<p><a href="http://sch-ools.com/top-private-schools/">Top Private Schools</a> exists to provide families with<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Information_quality" target="_blank"> quality information</a> on <a href="http://www.nais.org/ " target="_blank">independent and private schools</a> in Canada. To aid you in the decision-making process, we provide a list of the<a href="http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/college" target="_blank"> top 25 schools</a>, which are renowned for their rigorous academics, impressive resources, competitive athletics, and overall achievement. Our website aims to be a complete research center with a <a href="http://books.google.co.id/books?isbn=0750677120" target="_blank">continuously expanding knowledge</a> <a href="http://sch-ools.com/best-private-schools/">base for private schools </a>and the admissions process.</p>
<p>The <a href="http://www.topprivateschools.ca/aboutus.asp" target="_blank">Top 25 list of private schools</a> was compiled by <a href="http://sch-ools.com/elementary-school-ranking/">education consultants</a> who are experts on <a href="http://sch-ools.com/boarding-schools-canada/">Canadian independent schools</a>. We realize that the list does not provide a complete picture of <a href="http://www.askedu.net/training.asp?Course=Quality&amp;Location=Canada&amp;Pn=6" target="_blank">quality schools in Canada</a> and may not include some worthy candidates. However, we believe that providing distinction between schools provides families with a valuable guideline to begin their <a href="http://sch-ools.com/boarding-schools-usa/">school research</a> rather than being overwhelmed with a full list of schools.</p>
<p>Acceptance into the list is based on academic reputation, university placement,<a href="http://sch-ools.com/international-boarding-schools/"> school resources</a>, athletic programs and a peer assessment survey. The data from the peer assessment surveys comes from knowledgeable individuals who are familiar with the quality of private schools in their area. Survey respondents are asked to rate the programs which they are familiar on a scale of (1) to (10). If you are interested in filling out a survey.</p>
<p>We saw a lack of quality information for <a href="http://sch-ools.com/california-boarding-schools/">Canadian private schools</a> on the web. As <a href="http://www.petersons.com/" target="_blank">graduates of private schools</a>, we saw a need to provide families with a breadth and depth of information to make an informed decision. We hope our site can help in making the right choice for you.</p>

<p><a href="http://sch-ools.com/holland-christian-school">The Holland Christian School</a> incentive program is called “ABC—A Beginning Commitment.” It applies only to the first child from a household. In the ABC program, parents of Holland Christian<a href="http://sch-ools.com/college-prep-schools/"> preschoolers </a>receive a credit equal to half of their child’s preschool tuition when they enroll that child in <a href="http://sch-ools.com/christian-elementary-school/">kindergarten at Holland Christian</a>. The second half of the preschool tuition is credited when the child enrolls in first grade. Three <a href="http://sch-ools.com/northwest-christian-school/"></a><a href="http://sch-ools.com/northwest-christian-school/">West Michigan Christian </a>school systems are working together to encourage parents of preschoolers to choose <a href="http://sch-ools.com/first-christian-school/">Christian education</a>. The word on the playground is that preschool can now be free.</p>
<p><a href="http://sch-ools.com/western-christian-school/">The Kalamazoo Christian</a>, Grand Rapids Christian, and Holland Christian school systems, all with preschool-through-12th-grade programs, are offering families who enroll in the new incentive program and continue through the school system a credit of 50 to 100 percent of the cost of a year of preschool.</p>
<p>“We wanted to assist first families to get over the hurdle,” said Glenn Vos, superintendent at Holland Christian. Vos said that if the school can provide a link with a family for three years, “it is more likely we can retain them.”</p>
<p><a href="http://sch-ools.com/christian-correspondence-school/">The Grand Rapids Christian Schools’</a> incentive program is called “Preschool to Free School.” The program awards parents a $500 gift certificate when they enroll a GRCS preschooler in kindergarten at any of the GRCS member schools and another $500 certificate when they enroll in first grade. This program applies to all preschool students in a family. Superintendent Tom DeJonge is enthusiastic about the program since, as he says, “It’s tangible. It’s not limiting for anyone.”</p>
<p>The Kalamazoo Christian Schools’ incentive program is the “<a href="http://sch-ools.com/christian-school-jobs/">Kindergarten Voucher Plan</a>.” Superintendent Larry Baker said a voucher for one-half of the cost of a year of preschool was sent to parents of 4-year-olds from one campus. Baker said the voucher is “as good as cash” and is excited to attract parents from their church-hosted preschool to connect with the Kalamazoo Christian system.</p>
<p>Wendy Molotky has enrolled her son Dominik in the <a href="http://sch-ools.com/briarwood-christian-school/">ABC program at Holland Christian</a>. Molotky and her husband were wavering between the <a href="http://sch-ools.com/holy-spirit-catholic-school/">Catholic school</a> in the area and Holland Christian, and the ABC plan helped them make their decision. “I was thrilled! [Christian education] is expensive, and this is a great way to sign up,” said Molotky.</p>
<p>DeJonge said his staff and principals are excited about the incentive program and stressed that they know what is of utmost concern for families: “Affordability—we know <a href="http://sch-ools.com/christian-private-schools/">Christian school is a sacrifice</a>.”</p>

Private School Rankings - Things to Consider Before You Enroll Your Child
Private school rankings are very fluid until several weeks into the season. We all know you&#8217;ve got that freshman who blossomed in the off-season and those folks that beat you 85-6 are in a down year. Like I say, let&#8217;s just go ahead [...]

<p><a href="http://sch-ools.com/private-school-rankings">Private school rankings</a> are very fluid until several weeks into<a href="http://www.myspace.com/theseasononline" target="_blank"> the season</a>. We all know you&#8217;ve got that <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freshman " target="_blank">freshman</a> who blossomed in the off-season and those folks that beat you 85-6 are in a down year. Like I say, let&#8217;s just go ahead and play the schedule anyway and see what happens. There are some <a href="http://www.racingschools.com/" target="_blank">schools listed</a> in tapps d2 that are in tcal or independent; I&#8217;ve already contacted granger on them (as well as one school that isn&#8217;t playing). Several of those<a href="http://sch-ools.com/elementary-school-ranking/"> schools</a> have moved to &#8220;<a href="http://www.accessmylibrary.com/coms2/summary_0286-11489401_ITM " target="_blank">crowded field football</a>,&#8221; and some aren&#8217;t playing this year. I&#8217;ve also asked granger to add lubbock home <a href="http://sch-ools.com/christian-boarding-schools/">school christian</a> this year. As far as i know, they are the only <a href="http://newhome.esc17.net/" target="_blank">new home school group</a> (added to austin, san antonio and bryan) this year. I had heard about <a href="http://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/" target="_blank">a group forming in montgomery county</a>, but no word on if they were able <a href="http://cubs.mlb.com/" target="_blank">to field a team or get a schedule</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.greatschools.net/" target="_blank">Private school ranking or rating</a> is a<a href="http://www.sac.edu/students/library/nealley/websites/controversial.htm " target="_blank"> controversial issue </a>that keeps cropping up year after year. Parents are often looking for an easy list that will tell them &#8220;<a href="http://sch-ools.com/catholic-boarding-schools/">the right school</a>&#8221; for their child, however, every expert on education says that such <a href="http://ezinearticles.com/?Short-Hair-Styles---3-Keys-to-Avoiding-a-Big-Mistake&amp;id=1397303" target="_blank">short cuts are a big mistake</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.independentmail.com/news/2009/jun/07/ranking-shouldnt-be-focus/ " target="_blank"><strong>Do Not Focus on Rankings</strong></a></p>
<p>You can find publications that rank <a href="http://sch-ools.com/boarding-schools-canada/">Toronto private schools</a>, but do not focus too strongly on these rankings. Remember,<a href="http://d-edreckoning.blogspot.com/2009/03/some-kids-excel-regardless-of-school.html" target="_blank"> regardless of the school</a> you choose, research has shown that the fact that you choose to put your child in a private school is, in and of itself, enough to help him have<a href="http://www.examiner.com/a-1176859~Better_test_scores______and_city_school_kids_love_it.html " target="_blank"> better test scores upon graduation</a>. Consider these rankings, but do not make your <a href="http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1P2-844690.html" target="_blank">decision based entirely</a> on which school has <a href="http://sch-ools.com/best-private-high-schools/">the best test scores</a>. Remember, your <a href="http://www.berry.edu/academics/education/elementary/documents/Lori_Frederick_Ed_Phil.doc" target="_blank">child is a unique individual</a>, and the <a href="http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Majority.Blogs&amp;CFID=13532789&amp;CFTOKEN=33382198" target="_blank">environment that works best for the majority of students</a> may <a href="http://www.blogher.com/working-moms-or-not-your-child-best-thing-youve-ever-done" target="_blank">not work best for your child</a>.</p>
<p><strong>Consider Your Child&#8217;s<a href="http://www.nwlincs.org/mtlincs/pilotproject/studyskills/strengthweak.htm " target="_blank"> Learning Strengths and Weaknesses</a></strong></p>
<p>Does your child learn well through visuals, or is he one that needs to touch and feel objects to learn about them? If you have your <a href="http://www.childpreschool.co.nz/" target="_blank">child in preschool</a>, ask his teachers about his <a href="http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Web_2.0_Learning_Styles " target="_blank">apparent learning style</a>. If not, you have probably already learned <a href="http://www.getrichslowly.org/blog/2009/05/10/mother-knows-best-5-ways-to-teach-your-kids-about-money/ " target="_blank">the best ways to teach your child</a>. Choose a school that will work with your<a href="http://sch-ools.com/boarding-schools-for-boys/"> child&#8217;s learning strengths</a>. A visual learner will not do well in a school that learns almost entirely through written projects, but<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auditory_learning" target="_blank"> an auditory learner</a> will not do as well in a<a href="http://www.designshare.com/Research/Wolff/Project_Learning.htm" target="_blank"> project-based learning environment</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.allaboutphilosophy.org/sitemap.htm" target="_blank"><strong>Consider the Philosophy You Want</strong></a></p>
<p>Whether or not you choose a <a href="http://sch-ools.com/christian-boarding-schools/">religious education</a> for your child, each <a href="http://torontoprepschool.com/" target="_blank">Toronto prep school</a> has its own <a href="http://www.imprint.co.uk/books/Haldane_1.html" target="_blank">philosophy about education and values</a>. As you visit schools and look at <a href="http://www.thefreedictionary.com/curriculums" target="_blank">curriculums</a>, make sure <a href="http://www.imprint.co.uk/books/Haldane_1.html" target="_blank">the educational philosophy and values</a> are in line with your goals as a family. You are not going <a href="http://www.sedl.org/change/school/culture.html " target="_blank">to change the values of a school</a> just because your children are <a href="http://www.thefreedictionary.com/enrolled" target="_blank">enrolled</a> there, so <a href="http://sch-ools.com/elementary-school-ranking/">choose a school that is a good fit</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://education.yahoo.com/college/essentials/articles/college/campus_visit.html " target="_blank"><strong>Visit the Campus</strong></a></p>
<p>On paper a school may seem perfect, but you may visit only to find that it has <a href="http://vaiafn.org/ " target="_blank">outdated technology</a> or an unfriendly staff. Before you choose a school to enroll your children in, <a href="http://www.scheduleavisit.com/" target="_blank">schedule a visit</a>. If you can, take your children with you and participate in at least part of <a href="http://sch-ools.com/weddington-high-school/">a normal school</a> day. This will give you a feel for the way the staff members interact with each other and with <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGCJ46vyR9o" target="_blank">the students</a>. It will also help you see what type of <a href="http://www.shuttlepresskit.com/STS-99/dto63.htm" target="_blank">educational activities are performed</a>, and your child will be able to see the environment and give you any input as to her<a href="http://www.schoollibraryjournal.com/blog/540000654/post/20040402.html" target="_blank"> impressions of the school and the kids</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.businessweek.com/bschools/content/feb2008/bs20080224_671519.htm" target="_blank"><strong>Consider the Extra-Curriculars</strong></a></p>
<p>Large <a href="http://sch-ools.com/college-prep-schools/">preparatory schools</a> tend to have all of<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extracurricular_activities " target="_blank"> the extra-curricular activities</a> that a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_school " target="_blank">public school </a>might have, and sometimes even more, but <a href="http://www.ericdigests.org/1995-2/small.htm " target="_blank">smaller private schools</a> may have a limited number of choices. If band is important to you, make sure the school you are considering has this option. For some families a <a href="http://www.eric.ed.gov/ERICWebPortal/recordDetail?accno=EJ441439 " target="_blank">foreign language component</a> is important, but the number of languages you can choose from may be limited if you enroll your children in a small Toronto<a href="http://sch-ools.com/california-boarding-schools/"> independent school</a>. If you want your children involved in sports, find a <a href="http://www.ihnice.com/ " target="_blank">school with a nice variety</a>. However, if sports are not important to your family, make sure the school does not have <a href="http://www.idebate.org/debatabase/topic_details.php?topicID=255" target="_blank">a compulsory sports program</a>.</p>

<div id="body">Different <a href="http://sch-ools.com/private-school-jobs/">private schools</a> have different qualities, and, when you’re making a decision on what <a href="http://sch-ools.com/elementary-school-ranking/">private school</a> to send your child to, you should have an idea on what <a href="http://a4esl.org/q/h/employ/persqual.htm " target="_blank">qualities to value</a>. If you’re willing to pay for your child to receive a better education than what they’d receive at a<a href="http://http://sch-ools.com/private-school-rankings/"> public school</a>, you want to know that they’re getting the good education you’re paying for. This article explains some of the qualities you should look for in a <a href="http://sch-ools.com/elementary-school-ranking/">private school for your elementary</a>-aged child:</p>
<p><a href="http://www.dekalb.k12.ga.us/.../2009-04-22.2009-04-30.Title_I_Conference_Encourages_Parent_Participation.pdf" target="_blank"><strong>The School Encourages Parent Participation</strong></a></p>
<p>One of the best ways to get you child excited about their education is by<br />
showing him or her that you’re excited about their education. The easiest way to do this is to be involved in their studies. When choosing a private elementary school, you’ll want to find out how much participation the school allows the parents. Do they have a parent-teacher organization? Do they offer conferences? Are parents contacted when their child seems to be struggling with their work? If you want to be involved in your child’s learning, you should find a school that <a href="http://sch-ools.com/international-boarding-schools/">values parent participation</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.associatedcontent.com/.../why_todays_society_does_not_encourage.html" target="_blank"><strong>The School Encourages Hard Work</strong></a></p>
<p>Most private school students have a significantly harder work load than public school students in the same grade. <a href="http://sch-ools.com/best-boarding-schools/">A good private elementary school</a> should value the knowledge that comes from hard work. Though much of elementary school is teaching values, manners, and basic skills, a large part of it is preparing your child for everything else they will do in life. If you child’s private school does not encourage hard work, then your child could struggle the rest of their lives with reading, basic math skills, writing, or grammar.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.ausport.gov.au/.../strategies_to_encourage_involvement_in_sport_and_physical_activity" target="_blank"><strong>The School Encourages Involvement Many Different Activities</strong></a></p>
<p>You want your child<a href="http://sch-ools.com/georgia-high-schools/"> to be able to discover</a> what they enjoy. Your child might enjoy art, sports, writing, gardening, or debating, but, if their school doesn’t offer these things, they might never realize that they enjoy them. You want your child to be able to experience a wide variety of activities before they form biases for or against them. For this reason, you should send your child to a school that both offers a lot of <a href="http://sch-ools.com/weddington-high-school/">extracurricular activities</a> and encourages student participation in the activities the school offers.</p>
